-
- Section 1 - Requirements for using QTerm
-
- 1. A working WINSOCK.DLL.
- a) If operating on a TCPIP stack you will need a network card which
- is connected to a network.
- b) If you're using QWINSOCK.DLL and are not on a network you will
- need a modem and an Internet provider in order to connect to the
- Internet.
- 2. Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or higher.
-
-
- Section 2 - Installing QTerm
-
- This program should be automatically installed with the InternetSuite.
- QTerm should be installed in the QTERM subdirectory unless you've
- installed it elsewhere.
-
- Once unpacked, QTerm is a stand alone program and may run
- independently of the other programs in the InternetSuite. It should
- be compatible with any WINSOCK.DLL including QWINSOCK.DLL.
-
-
- Section 3 - Features of QTerm
-
- 1) Easily log onto remote telnet sites.
- 2) VT220 terminal emulation.
- 3) Copy and paste to the Windows clipboard.
-
-
- Section 4 - Additions to the manual
-
- 1) On page 221 the manual says that you may connect using the "@"
- character. This is incorrect. You may specify a machine name in
- the "Open Connection [Telnet]" box, but you must go through that
- machine's login procedure in order to use a specific account.
-
-
- Section 5 - General Questions
-
- I'm getting a GPF in WLIBSOCK.DLL when I try to connect, why?
- The most common reason on a Novell network is that the line
- "device=vtcpip.386" is not in the [386enh] section of Windows'
- SYSTEM.INI file. If you are not on a Novell network you may not
- need this line.
-
- Why doesn't QTerm log off immediately? It takes several [ENTER]'s to
- close the connection.
- You probably don't have the correct NOVASYNC.EXE program in your
- path. This is a key component of Novel's LAN workplace.
-
- Why does QTerm notify me that the connection is lost even though I
- logged off the system on purpose?
- QTerm cannot tell the difference between the remote system
- shutting down unexpectedly or when you use a command to log off.
- The message isn't meant to be an error, but is informing you that
- the connection is down.
